The students have been working on an expository piece on a Famous African American of their choice. They are then paraphrasing their writing to present a more reasonable amount of information to share with the class.
The site is great when it works well, it does require some practice to get comfortable with. This does allow the students to utilize their creativity and enhance their ability to share what they have learned. I would definitely recommend that the students and teacher practice with the site to work out any potential kinks. This is a site that can be used for any class to help present a topic and for kids to teach each other new concepts.
The following is an example of what I shared with the class to give them their assignment. The students are still completing their projects.
Love the comic delivery idea....bet the students pay more attention to the details in a comic than the teacher...lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to motivate the students! I'm going to make morning messages with this, perhaps use it at the end of the lesson to deliver the re-cap. I think they'd pay more attention to this French man.
ReplyDeleteI agree^! I like that you combined the comic with actual writing so that those that enjoy writing and then those that want to be more creative can enjoy the comic. It appeals to a variety of learners.
