1. A description of your project. What did you do for your lesson?
3. Evidence of learning-pictures of student work, creations, etc.
Tag your post with c__ (including your cohort number), your last name, and any key words that will help to search through the projects.
I created a geometry project that incorporated a geometry blog in which students looked for everyday geometry. The students then worked together to create photo story's using pictures of geometry around Sappington. The students also had to narrate their slides with definitions of each geometric figure.

I tried to upload the photo story's to my computer and was unsuccessful. The students made them on the student laptops and for some reason it's not compatible to save on my computer. I tried to upload to YouTube and that doesn't work either. I have attached a screen shot.
4. Reflect on your lesson. What was successful? Are you likeley to repeat this lesson? What might you change? How could you adapt this project for another upcoming topic?
I think the lesson went pretty well and overall I was happy with the projects. The students were allowed to use digital cameras, iphones, smart phones, and ipods to take the photos. Uploading was difficult at first but the students seemed to really enjoy the process. I would repeat the project but I desperately need to find a way to save the photo story's on my laptop so I can post to my geometry blog, website, Facebook, and YouTube. I want the students to be able to show them to parents. I could adapt this project to a writing project to create a photostory of a piece of fiction/nonfiction the students are writing. I could also create another blog that can be used for other math topics.

***My other project that I started over since we last met was using Edmodo. I have set up Literature circles on Edmodo so that the students can have an online dialogue. I have assignments already set up for them to work on and they can post to each other. So far so good!
Love the blog! Very creative photos added. One suggestion is to change the format of the blog b/c it is difficult to see all of the images. Maybe go with one of the older templates (not the mosaic one). Overall, awesome idea! What a real world, practical experience for finding geometry in every day life.
