Tableau project

Creating a Tableau

Description:
•Students created tableaus, frozen stories recorded in a photograph.
•They started by documenting facts on a worksheet about their emotions, noting their body, face and triggers.
•Students took pictures of each other showing the emotions.
•Students downloaded their pictures from the memory card to a folder that they created on our shared network.
•Students imported pictures into word to manipulate and print for a poster. On the poster, they glued their pictures and word bubbles that told about their emotions.

Evidence:

Reflection: The differentiation was a big success. My more advanced writers were expected to write more. The more advanced technology gurus learned how to use clip art to connect to their emotions or made their own word bubbles. I would definitely repeat this lesson again because the skills are valuable for any learner. I'd like to use tableaus as a way to summarize a chapter or document an event in history.

  1. Awesome idea! It seems like the project would be very engaging and interesting for the students. I could definitely see using this for older students to summarize chapters/book.

  3. Have you ever used glogster? Might be fun to try a digital version of this project as a choice.
