Diana Skubic's Elite 3 Animoto Project

1. A description of your project. What did you do for your lesson?
For my lesson I chose to use animoto to enhance our lesson on Simple Machines. Our class was completing the unit.  As a culminating project we used the camera to take pictures of simple machines that were found both in the classroom and sround the school. We then uploaded the pictures to animoto, added music, and text. The students chose the background, music, and were able to drag the text.

2. Include any links to websites utilized.

4. Reflect on your lesson. What was successful? Are you likeley to repeat this lesson? What might you change? How could you adapt this project for another upcoming topic?
This lesson was very successful with the students. The students were able to incorporate "real" examples of simple machines with the pictures they have seen on our worksheets and online. They were then able to incorporate their pictures into a fun presentation that held their attention. Now that I understand how to use this program, I plan to use it to more in the classroom. I will use it both as a presentation for students as well as a communication tool for parents where I am able to share  pictures from classroom activities, field trips, and school happenings.
In future use, I will plan to incorporate video clips into the presentations as well.
